Mission:
Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Briefing Room
Timeline: Current
ON:
After reading over Tara's report about Captain Rivers daughter things needed to be discussed. Tapping her com-badge "Commander Green, Lieutenants Herculoid, McKeon, Johnson and Captain Rivers report to the briefing room. There is a matter we need to discuss.
Alesha acknowledged the order and headed for the briefing room curious at to why she'd been summoned. "Commodore," Alesha greeted when she walked in.
Tara had been on the bridge and had entered the briefing room just behind Alesha. "Commodore, Alesha," Tara greeted taking a seat next to Alesha.
Alister entered the briefing room a couple of minutes later sliding into a seat, "Commodore," he said giving a nod to the CO, "What's going on?"
"As soon as Commander Green gets here I'll let Lieutenant Herculoid fill us in on why you've all been summonsed," Cyndi said
"I'm not sure what is holding up Commander Green or Lieutenant Johnson. Lieutenant please tell everyone what you told me and what you found. We can fill in Kalina and Ro when they arrive," Cyndi said
Tara looked at Alesha and gave her a warning look, then turned her attention back to everyone. "As I told the commodore Alesha's married, her husband deserted her when their daughter was a month old. The Amazon government has exhausted all resources in locating him and their daughter. Her husband was raised on Amzock so he's fluent in our language. Alesha, through diplomatic channels I believe I've found Raul and Amber. He's on a planet controlled by the syndicate and from what I've seen, Amber is with him. Raul is Risan. Amber is three now. I found a picture of her when she was a baby and through age progression this is what she'd look like now." Tara made a few adjustments on the screen showing Amber from infancy to age three.
"That slimy, dirty, double crossing dog!"Alesha shouted "I'm going to get my daughter!" Alesha got to her feet
"Stand down captain," Cyndi ordered "Take your seat! If this is your daughter we have to proceed carefully. We have your DNA on file and we'll match it to her, IF what Herculoid says is true."
“The problem is going to be after confirming,” Alister said from his seat frowning, “I doubt we would be able to get the planetary authorities to intervene on our behalf.” He scratched his chin carefully, “Do we have the name and location of the planet? Getting on world shouldn’t be a problem, getting off world that will complicate things.”
"The planet is one I've never heard of, it's called Nurgel, it's near the the Orions from what I've found," Tara said keeping an eye on Alesha.
Green, having been summoned, had had to change from her Meji robes and back into Starfleet garb. She now, once again, carried her lightsaber with her. Qeritas had yet to show up and explain why they had been returned to her Order, but she was sure an explanation would be forthcoming. ~Patience~ she told herself. As she made her way to the Conference Room, Ro had used her command codes to access the meeting, her palm PADD texting out all that had been said so far. Crossing the Bridge, she then entered the main briefing room. "Nurgel is within the 'Badlands', and is under Orion control," she explained as she came in. "Alister is right. Getting down there is easy. Getting off planet, that's something else. The colony is Syndicate ran and Syndicate protected. Starfleet has no presence there." Ro finished speaking as she made it to her assigned seat and sat down.
"My fighter can cloak, I can get my daughter, secure her in the back seat of my fighter, cloak and be gone,"Alesa said
"Alesha a fighter is no place for a three year old, you know this," Tara responded
"Herculoid is right," Cyndi said "Suggestions and recommendations. If Alesha's daughter is indeed on that planet, then her safety comes first."
"We can't go into any detail plan without knowing what the best place would be to attempt to grab Alesha's daughter," Alister said from his seat. "Your daughter was a month old when she was taken from you, she will have no memory of you as her mother. That will mean she will have to be grabbed and it won't be willingly. That would be ideally, somewhere away from her father but with a timeline that we can use to get her off world. I would cause issues in a couple of different areas of the planet far away from our planned extraction." He sighed glancing up at the ceiling, "Easiest way would be to simply board a liner or freighter then have a starship or runabout meet us just across the border and take us off. The problem is a young girl screaming she's been kidnapped out cause issues. At three it wouldn't be out of the picture to have a young girl asleep being carried onto the ship by her parents but that would mean we would have to give her something to go to sleep and stay asleep at least long enough to get off the ship and start our transportation back to the Amandora."
"Doctor Long can give us something that if needed can be given to Amber to make her sleep. Hard part will be getting close to her," Tara commented "There are only three aboard who can speak the Amazon language."
"How hard would it be to get a transporter lock on Amber and beam her off? How many Amazon-Risans can be on that planet?" Alesha asked.
Ro spoke up, having waited to hear the roundabout. "First. In my opinion Captain Rivers' fighter is perfect for the job. Small, agile, can cloak. But, a cloak doesn't hide the sound of a fighter landing. You would have to find a place where it could be quite a hike to get there." She glanced around the table. "Now, in regards to just scanning for her, that also has its problems and limitations. There are probably hundreds of Risans there at any given time. Amazon, probably not. But, finding that speck of Amazon among all the other life forms, some of whom share racial characteristics, and it would be improbable." Green did not blush, but she gave an unapologetic quaint look. "I've been there, back in my lieutenant days at DS9. Went undercover with Intel and Strat. Ops. Always expect the unexpected, Alesha. All I am saying." The Core told Ro all she needed to know. This was Alesha's destiny, no matter how it played out. She locked eyes with Rivers. "Alesha, I will back you on whatever you wish to do in regards to your family. However, there will be stipulations."
"Commander, I just want my daughter back, when Raul took her and all efforts of locating him have failed....until now, a divorce was put in place because there has been no contact in three years." Alesha said "What are the stipulations? Amber more than likely can only speak the Amazon language."
Green remained command rigid, back straight and shoulders squared. "Resign your commission as a Starfleet officer. That automatically puts you on inactive reserve. You would then be a civilian and the Federation, nor Starfleet, can be blamed for anything you cause to happen."
Alesha nodded "And will I be permitted to return to Starfleet and my position here once I have my daughter or is this the end for me?"
"I can help take care of Amber once she's found and reunited with her mother," Tara said.
"Yes," said Green. "This is to protect our government from any blame. Once you have completed this task then you can return to rank and position. Barring any laws you may be held accountable for should you get caught breaking any."
"To protect the Amandora, Starfleet and the Federation I can remove the markings from my personal fighter and have it only carry the Amazon markings," Alesha said
"Just as long as you put them back on your fighter once you return. I don't want to lose you, you’re a hell of a pilot and you have a promising future," Cyndi commented.
Alister gave a nod of his head and pulled out a PADD punching a few buttons on it, “Unless we have anything else to go over, I have a scheduled call that needs to be handled personally.” He stood up and reached a hand out to Alesha, “Good luck,” he said turning the PADD so she could read the screen that said meet me in my office in a hour.
"Thank you," Alesha said taking his hand as she read the message and nodded.
"Your good to go lieutenant," Cyndi said
"As soon as I have my daughter back commodore I'll contact you and Commander Green," Alesha commented.
"Since this is a personal matter," Green said. "Just know that you have my support. Alesha. Even if you cross lines I will aid you where I can. If not as Starfleet, then as Meji."
"Thank you commander," Alesha said as she removed her com-badge and laid it on the table." "I'll keep you posted on how this goes. I do plan to bring her aboard at least for little while."
"Alesha, I will help with her care and I know Kristian will as well. You just be careful, please," Tara remarked
"I don't need to tell you to be careful, good luck captain," Cyndi said
"Thank you commodore, commander, next time you see me I'll have my daughter with me," Alesha said getting to her feet as she headed out.
