Post Number 1 - Graingers Back

Location: USS Runabout Marquette
Timeline: Just After Away Team Beamed Back

Note: This could be considered Character Development and Starting the new mission.

On:

All of a sudden everything happened at once. Lt Sabbath got word that the Away Team was back. Then as quickly as he said that he was gone.

Smithers said. I guess that our mission to the Moon is delayed. Didn't his sudden quick departure from the area seem not Vulcan like. No matter. Jennifer lets get out of these suits and store our backpacks for now.

Jennifer noted, with the Away Team back on Board doesn't that mean that Uncle Grainger is back too. I hope that he is Ok. I will check on him. She touched her communicator. Jennifer Smithers to Troy Grainger.

Grainger acknowledged immediately. Jennifer you don't need to be so formal. I'm not surprised that you called first. Don't worry I'm fine. Where are you guys Im at our ships quarters.

Smithers walked up and said into Jennifers comm badge. Sorry Grainger we happen to be in our Runabout right now. Before your briefing with the Commodore please come here first.

Grainger responded sure thing Smithers. I imagine we have some stories to share. I will be there right away.

Smithers then tapped his comm badge. Communications this is Lt Smithers if Lt Sabbath hasn't done so please inform the Commodore that we are not heading out to the Moon as planned.

Communications here sir. We are leaving orbit soon to go deeper into the Palai system and heading to the planet Solaria. Lt Sabbath did inform the Commodore that the mission to this planets moon was scrubbed. The Commodore just informed me that Grainger needs to debrief. Communications Out.

Smithers and Jennifer just stood there in Silence for a moment and looked at each other. Jennifer commented wow things move fast around here. Both of them finished changing into there uniforms when Grainger came through the door onto the Shuttle Bays Deck.

Jennifer ran to Grainger and hugged him. Uncle Grainger you made it. How was the away mission. How are you doing.

Smithers smiled and said lets all head into the Runabout and give Grainger a moment to catch up and relax a little bit.

Heading into the Shuttle Bay Grainger said how come you guys are here. I thought that you were in our quarters, the bridge, or the Science Department somewhere.

Jennifer spoke up. We were about to go on a mission with Lt Sabbath to this planets moon. My first mission by the way.

Grainger could tell that she was a bit upset. No worries Jennifer we are just heading into this system I'm sure there will be other chances to be on an away team.

Smithers spoke up yes things are changing fast. The Amandora is leaving orbit soon to go deeper into the Palai system and heading to the planet Solaria. I'm sure that we are going to be needed right away to do scans of the area and new planet.

Grainger summed up the Away Mission. On this planet their is a large cave system. My take is that many years ago their was a civilization living there. At the entrance to the cave there was an ancient computer that trapped us in the cave and gave us a riddle to solve.

Grainger continued. I need to let both of you know that our Assistant Chief Science Officer Lieutenant Tara Herculoid and I got into a confrontation a couple times during the Mission. I plan on straightening things out soon. It was an argument over rock structure and she doubted that my Tricorder must not be working right. I finally gave in and said I will check out the Tricorder when we got back. You are better at these things than I am. I'm leaving the tricorder with you so that you can check it out.

Smithers felt for Grainger's problem. Grainger I'm sure you can straighten things out with Tara. Remember that we are just starting to get to know her. As for the tricorder leave it with me. That way you guys cant argue over it. If she asks just say that the tricorder is in storage. Just don't say where. Its not a lie because it will be in storage here.

Okay you two it looks like the Amandora is moving on so we should be too. Smithers locked up the Runabout. Grainger why dont we head up to the Bridge. You need to debrief with the Commodore and I will go to the Science Station and start doing scans.

When the turbolift arrived at the Bridge Smithers and Grainger stepped out. Grainger looked at the Commodore. I'm here for my debriefing. Smithers added Commodore I hear that we are shortly going deeper into the Palai system and heading to the planet Solaria. I'm going to the Science Station to scan ahead. I will you know what I find out right away.
