"When does the Amandora arrive baby. It's been to long, since I held you in my arms." Paul suggested, just then Brent pretended to puke. He could hear his father talking to his mother. "Ignore him." Paul insisted.

"He's young," Cyndi said "Right now lovey things are above him. We should pull in, in a couple of days. I can't wait to see you again either."

"Might as well be an eternity." Paul said a little sad. "It's been quiet here. How did your mission go?" He asked, as looked to his wife.

"It was interesting, the planet had no life on it save for a large body of water, heavily laden fruit trees. Countless vegetation and structures that had at one time been inhabited. But long dead, science reported that a meteor had struck the planet three hundred years ago killing all life. Emma stumbled into an underground cavern and found a computer that came to life when she tripped something, Short version some androids appeared and wanted her to be the mother of a new race. She of course declined and we were ordered off the planet. Sad too as I'd have loved to explore it further," Cyndi replied.

"So just a typical Monday morning assignment?" Paul said to her with a big cheesy grin on his face. Her mission seem pretty mundane. The part of Emma stumbling into a cavern, was kind of exciting but it didn't sound like anything groundbreaking. Which made him grateful, cuz he didn't like her putting herself out there in danger, and he knew without even asking that she was probably a part of the away mission.

"Your right and so far this new sector of space seems pretty quiet. I;m sure it won;t last, it is good to make sure there are no issues with the ship," Cyndi said. "And before you ask yes I was on the planet, The chance to explore a planet with no life on it did have my interest peeked."

"Is there something wrong with your first officer? You know that's kind of their job." Paul reminded her, trying to subtly hint to her that she was now a commanding officer. She was actually one foot out the door she was almost a full-blown Admiral, she already had the single star on her collar, it wouldn't be too long before Starfleet offered her a second star.

"I have an excellent first officer. The best I've had in sometime. I'm also well aware it's his job to lead away missions, you also know there are times when I want to go too." Cyndi replied she knew her husband was right. Her place was on the ship. Command had hinted that she should think about a desk assignment. "The scientist in me gets in the way. I'll let Ben handle away missions moore."

"Cyndi, your not a first officer." Paul said, trying to break it to her softly. She should not be taking unnecessary risks.

"I know, I'm a Starfleet Commodore, and in command of this ship," Cyndi replied. "But my most important role is your wife and mother to our two kids. I know I shouldn't take risks. That's what the first officer is for."

"Wife you say is priority. Says the lady galloping across the stars and putting her life in unnecessary danger." Paul pointed out to her with a loving tone. She had to see the irony in her statement.

Cyndi nodded "I know and the day will come when command will win out and put me behind a desk. I promise you I'll do better not to put myself into any unnecessary danger, When we pull in, I'd like to have a nice family night. I'll even cook dinner. And if your command can let you go for a couple of days I'd like to visit the planet Danvers is near."

"It wont be that bad, but I know that day is not today." Paul said, knowing he could not push her to hard. But he could not wait for the day they will both behind a desk, and spending quality time together.

"Yes my love the day will come when I'll have to give up my command and settle for a desk job. Only problem is where will they stick me?" Cyndi commented.

"Right next to me. I will insist on it." Paul said, with a warm and playful smile on his face. "If they put you at a desk, it will be close to me. At that point, we have done our part for Starfleet. It will be there turn to do something for us."

"Us working together, it's been a long time since we've served together on the same ship or starbase," Cyndi agreed, "Or we could retire when we have enough years in, go home become lazy, and wait to become grandparents. Which idea do you prefer?" Cyndi asked with a smile on her face."

"Like either one of us could give up Starfleet." Paul said, with a big warm smile on his face. "Were lifers, hunny. We both know it."

"Very true, Starfleet has made us who we are," Cyndi replied. "The day I make Admiral is the day I'll concede and take a desk job as long as I get to serve with you, Command tries to separate us I'll resign."

"I'll be looking forward to that day." Paul said, with a big smirk on his face. "Just promise me that you won't go back to your home world become Queen."

"I'm not ready for that anytime soon." Cyndi said. "Maybe one of the kids will want it. If not I'm stuck."

"Well I hope you're ready for a dinner reservation because I have already booked one on the promenade for us." Paul started to say, then went on. "No kids just the two of us."

"I'm more than ready. Just no uniforms, I'd like to dress up for you." Cyndi replied. "I'm so looking forward to it."

"Uniforms or not, I just want you there." Paul said, knowing even if they were not in uniform, everyone on the station would know he was the commanding officer of the station. And she was his loving wife.

"There is nothing that will keep me away. Ship is close, we'll be there in a few hours," Cyndi assured him. "I can't wait to see you."

"So your sleeping in my bed tonight." Paul said a little mischievous. He could not help himself.

"That's my plan, unless you don't want me to." Cyndi said picking up a black lace number that hardly had anything to it. "Or I can just put this away for another time." she teased. "It's up to you."

"Don't make me pull rank." Paul said, as his eyes imagined how she would look in the small skimpy outfit, she had in her hand.

Cyndi couldn't help but giggle. "Pull rank anytime you like admiral. I'll follow your orders."

"Now your just teasing me, but I will hold you to that." Paul said as the scene starts to fade away.
