“Commodore there is a Klavorian Shuttle wishing to dock,” Communications announced
Turning to look at her communications officer, “Did you say Klavorian? That’s a hell of a long way from my planet. Helm take us out of warp, communications grant permission and notify them I’ll meet them at docking bay one,” Cyndi said getting to her feet and she headed for the docking bay. Who from Klavor was here? Was there a problem on Klavor? Walking into the docking bay Cyndi dismissed the officers there as while Starfleet didn’t acknowledge royalty and her documentation was on file that didn’t mean her people understood it. Seeing the shuttle dock Cyndi walked over and released the air lock to permit whoever was aboard to enter the ship.
Paul had planned the surprise for Cyndi and things had finally worked out to where he could carry out is planned surprise. Thanking the pilot for the ride he picked up and shouldered his duffel and walked from the air lock on the Klavorian shuttle and onto the Amandora. Grinning at his wife “Permission to come aboard commodore?”
“PAUL!” Cyndi shouted as she nearly ran to her husband and embraced him in a bear hug and a long and very passionate kiss. When the kiss finally broke “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
Placing his arm around her waist “Because I wanted to surprise you, the shuttle is leaving to go back to Klavor,” Paul said as he secured the air locks and watched as the shuttle backed away and headed for deep space.
“You did surprise me,” Cyndi said hugging him again “By regulations your senior officer so command is yours,”
“I’m retired Cyndi, this is your ship and your command, I don’t want command, but I would love to see the bridge,” Paul said as she shouldered his duffel.
“We’ll drop your things off in my quarters and then head for the bridge,” Cyndi replied as they walked from the docking bay. After stopping by her quarters Paul dropped off his duffel and took her hand as they headed for the bridge. Once there Cyndi resumed her seat and indicated to the seat at her left usually reserved for the second officer who was currently in his office on the marine deck. “Helm resume course and speed.”
Paul took the offered seat and watched as her bridge officers kept glancing over at him. Paul was in civilian attire and he knew her officers were curious as to who he was. But that was up to Cyndi to tell him. In the meantime he just enjoyed being close to his wife again.
