Mission:
Rescue On Romulus
Location: Various
Timeline: Current, 01245 Hours.
Hurd stood like rock, directing his Men to fan out and sweep the Amandora. Knowing their were likely more intruders aboard, he tapped his Combage several times, summoning 3 other Officers, the ones he knew he could count on.
Alesha grabbed a phase rifle and headed out. If there were other Romulans's aboard she'd find them. Seeing the major "Where do you want or need me?"
Trace was nearby when his comm badge chirped and was there in short order. Standing at attention, he saluted his Commanding Officer and awaited orders.
"After I hit Sickbay I will catch up with y'all, if I can. Lots going on right now. If Nira is in good enough shape I'll send her down since her position allows for her to take over Security temporarily. That, and she has combat experience. I'm sure Lieutenant Washburn has teams at every vital system. per regs. (Washburn is just a name for an extra now and then. Please, do not kill him off. He is both witty and professional if you choose to play him. A LTjg. Thanx, folks).
Green departed the officer's lounge with the CO.
Alesha acknowledged Ro's comment. "Nira's a good officer, Trace "We meet again lieutenant. Major where do you want us?"
Nira had received the call and left Sickbay quickly, meeting up with the Major and the rest of the crew at the officer's lounge. "Do we run this like any other boarding action, Major? You and your marines work down, Security and I will work our way up. Anyone not supposed to be here should be caught in-between."
Alesha nodded "Let's do this, anyone who is not supposed to be here beam them to the brig, let the commodore deal with them. Major we'll keep you posted, move out and let's get the sweep done."
Trace nodded and took up a flanking position next to Alesha. "Ready." He said, checking his firearm.
Nira looked to the young lieutenant. "Mister Washburn, lead or follow?"
"Follow, Chief." He answered. "I'm fairly new here and still getting my legs on the Dora."
Nira gave him a nod of understanding then clapped a hand down on his shoulder. "It is the wise being who knows their limitations. Come, let us wade through Romulan blood!" She walked passed him, announcing directives as she went. She tapped her combadge and asked the computer for a shipwide announcement. "Major Hurd and the marines will begin at the Bridge and head down through each deck. All access points to each deck need a team of two armed personnel at each one. All crew are to be armed with phasers set to heavy stun. If anyone is discovered you shoot to put them down. Do not hesitate and do what must be done to safeguard the ship. Chief Nira, out."
Washburn gave her a nod of pride. "Well said, Chief."
"Lock and load lieutenant," Alesha said as she released the safety on her phase rifle "Let's make sure there are no more Romulans aboard. We'll dive them so they're caught between us and security." Together they headed out to begin a search.
Silk had come to the meeting right at the end. He saw Hurd standing by himself, a look of confusion on his face. He went over and quietly inquired. The Major was fine except for the fact that he all of a sudden couldn't formulate a plan. Silk recognized PTSD when he saw it, having been there several times himself over the years. He tapped his badge. "Site to site, two to beam to Sickbay." They shimmered out of existence, ending up in Medical. Sean tapped his badge again. "Chief Nira, Major Hurd is indisposed. You'll have to lead the search yourself." Nira acknowledged and went about her business.
Silk got Hurd to sit on a biobed over in a far corner. "Major--David, you're having an episode, brother." He hit the man with a sedative before he could react, easing him back in the lying position on the bed as he went to sleep. "Losing loved ones isn't easy, man. You're not done healing yet." He gave orders that Hurd was to remain sedated until he said otherwise even as he put his orders into the medical log.
Alesha after sweeping the lower four decks and found nothing looked at West "I think everything is clear. I've not picked up any other Romulans."
After hours of searching Nira came to the same conclusion. She tapped her Badge. "Commander O'Connell, there is no evidence of further boarders. Request permission to shut down the search."
Tapping his Comm "Good work Chief and please let the others know good work as well....permission granted.....shut it down" Jamie ordered knowing the Crew had done their jobs well.
"Okay, as acting Chief I want our systems teams to remain on post. Rifles, sidearms and stun grenades." Everyone nodded. "Washburn, you have the duty of informing them all and organizing it better for Security, not protection." Nira gave a few nods to them all. "Liza would be proud. Dismissed."
Her people broke and went their ways. Nira, now able to settle down and let her adrenaline lapse headed for the closest briefing room. Once inside she ordered the lights off, relying on the glow from the panels for illumination even though her senses told her exactly what was where. Finding a corner she removed her weapons belt and dropped it to the deck and then sat down with her spine in the corner, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping them in her arms. She wept.
