Location: Amandora and Planet Surface

ON:

The away team assembled in the transporter room after more intense scans of the planet had showed no radiation threat which had been a concern of the science chief Sabbath. The only puzzling thing was no life forms and scans had shown that at one time the planet had, had a civilization there. What had had happened to them remained a mystery and one they hoped would be found once they were on the surface. Despite no life forms showing the away team was armed with phasers,

Tara was already in the transporter room when Cyndi entered, "Good morning commodore,"

"Good morning lieutenant," Cyndi greeted as they waited for the rest of the away team.

Tabitha entered the transporter room rather excited about the possibility of finding the remnants of a lost civilization as she greeted those present "Good morning Commodore, Lieutenant. Looks like a good day to go exploring" she commented with a smile.

A very surprised Dr Bret Rogers arrived as he was not aware he had been considered for this away team.

Emma entered the transporter room and looked at the others. "I second that." she said, having just caught her words as she walked in.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Cyndi asked stepping onto the transporter pad. "Let's beam down and see what is down there."

Without a word Tabitha followed suit and walked onto one of the pads eager to have a look see as well.

"Commodore, Lieutenant Herculoid gave me coordinates for a clearing for beam down," the transporter chief informed them.

"Beam us to that location and keep a transporter lock on us at all times," Cyndi ordered.

In seconds the transporter room on the ship was replaced by the planet surface.

Doctor Bret Rogers was totally thrilled to be on this away mission and immediately seized his tricorder to scan the crew.
" How is everybody?"

"I'm fine." Cyndi replied. "Let's get some scans done, by the looks of this planet no one has been here for decades,"

"I've picked up that body of water that we found on sensors. It's about a mile or two from where we are," Tara commented as she collected some soil and plant samples and put them in her field kit for later study."

Tabitha chimed in "I'm fine as well and thanks for asking Doctor Rodgers" she replied with a grin. Looking around the area she noticed dense foliage and colorful wild flowers in shades of yellows, reds, blues, and violets.....certainly a beautiful site to behold.

Bret could not help but think about that body of water and if there were any fish in there.

Emma looked around. She couldn't help but wonder at how some place this beautiful could not have life on it. Across the way she could see a grove of some type of fruit trees, with ripe fruit hanging from it.

Tara continued to run scans on the area they were in. Everything looked to be harmless.

Kristian spotting an unusual plant walked over to it and scanned it. Turning to the away team. "This seems too good to be true.This plant I ran across when I was on Denobula. It had various medical uses."

" A Denobulan Orchid...you're right." Dr Rogers agreed.

"It is possible others were here before us?" Emma questioned. She wondered if someone had tried to start a colony here and it had failed.

"That would be my thought too. Question is who were they and why did they leave?" Cyndi wondered.

"I'd like to do some exploring and see what may have happened here," Tara suggested.

" Me too. Can I go back and check out that body of water?" Brrt Rogers asked.

Hearing the conversations sounding all science Tabitha was starting to feel a little out of her element "I'll tag along Doctor Rodgers if you want to check out that body of water" she volunteered since she certainly knew what water was.

Bret smiled as he headed back to the large lake with Tabitha .

" When we passed I know I saw something jump. Something is alive down there." Bret commented.

"Hopefully nothing too dangerous" she replied "Although from what I've seen so far, water may be the only area where life survived. We haven't seen or heard any animals so far since we've been here."

" This whole planet gives me the willies. It's like we are in a green house of some kind." Brett replied.

Tabitha grinned "Doctor, you're not superstitious are you" she inquired in a teasing manner.

Emma listened to them speak but she wasn't feeling anything that gave her the creeps. It was not uncommon for their to be water life or animals on a planet where no species existed.

" In this universe anything is possible. So far though this first landing party is boring. Then again I use holodecks so I guess I am jaded." Bret replied

Emma sighed and bit back a sarcastic reply. She preferred these kind as opposed to being in a conflict where someone could get hurt or worse. "What would you like to happen, Lieutenant Rogers?"

" I want to stared at this water and suddenly a large Lochness Monster stick its head out show us something besides plants survived." Bret replied.

Cyndi had heard the comment from Doctor Rogers and decided to wait and see what his response to Emma was before she stepped in. Seeing a large outcropping of something that was covered in ivy and vines walked closer to it. Pulling out her tri-coder she scanned it bound it to be some form a structure, What it was she couldn't tell as it was covered in vines and ivy. "I found something," Cyndi called out to the landing party.

Emma headed in her direction and stopped. She started to scan the structure. "It appears to be a source of power."

Brett's reply intrigued Tabitha as she inquired "Doctor you've lost me; what exactly is this Lochness Monster you speak about and is it dangerous to people."

Emma shook her head and continued to scan the structure. The Lochness Monster was an old Earth fable. Some claimed it was true but there was never any proof that it existed. "It appears to be self operating." She moved a little closer and a beeping started. Emma stepped back and it quit. "It also appears to have a protection field in place."

" Well well I guess Eden has been explored before." Bret added.

"I'm more interested as ever, I wonder what this structure is and how it's emitting power," Cyndi commented.

Tara looked at Bret, "Eden is anyplace that has been left untouched and this planet may be untouched but one one built this structure and I wonder how many more structures are around here,"
