Post Number 16 Feeling Restless

Mission: Echoes Of The Past-4
Location: Amandora
Timeline: Current

Location: USS Amandora, Bridge

Benjamin was worried, he hated being on the starship. He wanted to be on the mission, but he knew that at least one senior officer needed to be on the bridge. He was antsy in the command chair. A chair he knew one day he would command one day. Maybe not the Amandora, but he would be captain.

Benjamin needed a distraction, he looked over to the acting first officer since he was acting captain while Cyndi was on the planet. "So glad you could join me on the bridge, Captain Rivers "

""Thank you commander, It's good to be on the bridge again," Alesha replied. "Part of me has missed this."

"I think we should get you back on the rotation. If I may ask why'd you get out of rotation?" Benjamin asked, he was partially curious and he was also trying to keep the conversation going.

"I really never was on the rotation for bridge duty, I filled in as I was needed. There were times when I covered the overnight shift." Alesha replied. "I'd be more than willing to be on bridge rotation."

"Well we need to fix that." Benjamin suggested with the warm smile on his face, and then he noticed, another officer walking onto a bridge.

Alister entered the bridge and made his way to the observer’s seat and sat down activating one of the side consoles on the seat, “Never did get the fascination with everyone wanting to take the center seat,” he said glancing up from the data coming over his screen.

Awaiting his transfer order Lt Sabbath entered the bridge and assumed his position at the science station.

"Good Mr Sabbath, preliminary data is coming back from the away team. I need you to start analyzing the data. I'd like a second pair of eyes on this.

" Affirmative Commander. Analyzing data now." Sabbath replied.

Alesha looked over at Alistar and smiled, "That is because its the most comfortable seat on the bridge."

"Say that after spending about 6 hours in this chair. I swear I need my operations officer to come over here and readjust the seat but then again I'm pretty sure are very tall commanding officer, would be mad at me. I think we need to have a way to Auto control the leveling system on the chairs. Imagine if someday you'll be able to sit down the chair program it to your preferences." Benjamin suggested. Right now he didn't dare change the settings of the chair, you didn't want a one-star Admiral yelling at him. For the moment he was curious to see how her team was doing, he was waiting for Sabbath to analyze all the data.

“Those are on ships designated for flag duty, specifically the observation chair where the Admiral would seat,” Alister said from his seat, still scrolling thru data on the arm display hunting for something. “It was considered a waste of extra resources to roll it out to the rest of the fleet, but then again I’m not sure how much height adjustment they are capable of since no one is going to sit in the Admiral’s chair if they are aboard.”

"That might work, isn't there someway to program a chair to do that?" Alesha asked. "I think perhaps having an admiral chair that can fold flat into the deck would be a good idea too. After all how often are we going to gave a flag officer aboard other than the commodore?"

"One Admiral is enough." Benjamin said with a big teasing grin on his face. He was trying to be humorous and not serious. "Mr Sabbath, any updates?" It had been a few minutes, and he wasn't exactly sure how long it would take to process the data. He wasn't trying to rush him he was just looking for an update.

" Most of the initial data is rather vague and elementary. The planet appears to be an unremarkable body and the only life signs detectable is that of the landing party. They have detected what appears to be a body of water and some flora and fauna." Sabbath replied.

Benjamin opened a channel with Commodore Song. "Our sensors are not detecting anything out of the usual parameters. How is your search going down there ma'am?" Benjamin ass hoping that they're almost done so they can get a second team down there.

Cyndi tapped her com-badge, "Planet is fine commander, it's beautiful and so far nothing seems to be a problem. We've found a body of water that Dr. Rogers wonders if there might be fish in it Emma has seen heavily laden fruit trees that science is checking. There are flowers, trees and the like. Hard to imagine there is nothing here but us."

David listened to the others speaking. The first officer had him thinking about a way to make that chair adjust. He would have to get permission but he was already coming up with a plan.

"Understood ma'am, just let us know when you're ready for the second away team to being down."

"Anytime your ready to beam down is good. The planet is worth further exploring." Cyndi responded.

"I'll make the announcement, then I'll leave Captain Rivers in charge and I'll join you on the surface." Benjamin said, is he looked over to Aleasha, but still waiting for the Commodore to respond.

"Sounds good to me, Captain Rivers is a good choice, Make the announcement and I'll see you on the surface," Cyndi said.

Alesha looked at the XO and nodded, "I'll take good care of the ship commander, you can count on that."
