Cyndi seeing her first officer beam down walked over to where he was. "I'm glad you could join us." Cyndi filled him in on what they'd found on the planet,

Emma continued to move among the structures, looking for clues and scanning for signs of trouble.

Tara spotted a moss covered boulder and carefully removed some of the moss. Frowning at what she'd found pulled out her tri=coder and scanned the moss, Seeing Emma a few yards away picked up the moss and walked over to where she was. "Commander please tell me I've not lost my mind or that I'm seeing things. Does this moss look like its moving to you?"

Dr Rogers had moved on to study the fruit trees as at least they were alive and growing.

Benjamin had beamed down to the planet's surface. He quickly met up with Commodore Song. "Ma'am, the ship is secured, I left Captain Rivers in command." He said with a warm smile on his face.

"Rivers is a capable officer, ship couldn't be in better hands," Cyndi agreed. "This planet is interesting. So far we've found no life other than foliage, fauna and some fruit trees. Yet there seem to be several vine and plant covered structures."

" Commodore the fruit shows no sign of acidity according to scans. For you want a Guinea pig to try it out?" Bret Rogers asked.

Emma was walking and she took a step and stumbled forward. She found herself inside the forcefield. When she moved to go back, it prevented her from leaving.

"Commodore." Emma replied calmly. "I am. Somehow inside the field with the structures however it will not let me leave. Permission to do some investigating."

"Permission granted and keep in contact with me. We'll try to find a way to either get you out or get us in," Cyndi said the concern clear in her voice. An uncharted planet with so life yet something had a forcefield up and now her chief of security was trapped in it.

Cyndi looked at Brett and shook her head, I'm in no mood to try a fruit that has not been tested. If you want to take a bite of it feel free,"

" I will wait. One issue at a time. " Bret replied.

Kristian walked over to where Bret was. "Need I remind you, that you never use the commanding officer, for a guinea pig when you find something new to eat. Let alone any of the command staff that includes the XO and the second officer."

"Emma please be careful." Benjamin said if he got on the communication channel as well. He didn't like the idea that his wife was trapped behind a force field.

"Ma'am this is why I was afraid of. Something doesn't seem right here." Benjamin suggested, as he pulled out a track recorder to scan the area looking for a power source.

"Understood." Emma replied. "I will keep in contact, I am looking for clues to what could have happened here."

"Commander I understand your concern, I'm concerned as well. With Emma in there she's best suited now to see if there is anyone one or anything alive here that our sensors have not picked up," Cyndi replied. "Doctor Rogers what did you find in the body of water?"

"Commodore, commander, I don't know what happened to the beings that lived here, but I did find where the body of water that Doctor Rogers and Lieutenant O'Neil found appears to be an impact crater," Tara commented.

"Can you determine how long ago the impact crater was formed?" Benjamin ask, hoping it wasn't recent. Cuz if it was that could be a sign that they weren't alone and potentially in danger.

"From what my scans are showing it's been centuries. I'd guess it to have been well over 50 to sixty centuries," Tara said.

" I am just a Surgeon but I would say that could definitely wipe out a civilization. " Bret replied having heard that.

Emma walked along, it was a lot bigger area than they had expected. She pressed her comm badge. "It is almost like a small village in here." She started to say and then blinked. Emma swore she saw movement to the left. "I have detected a possible sign of life. Orders?"

"500 to 600 years is that correct, Tara?" Benjamin said, hoping that somebody might be around but if it had been that long it is very possible that they were extinct. "We should probably look for a power source or signature that would be charging that stasis force field." Benjamin suggested he looked over to Cyndi.

Tara nodded, "At least, I don;t know what the impact was, but my guess was an asteroid, Big enough to wipe out all life. I hate to admit it but Emma is where she can find out the best as to what happened. It's a chance that who ever lived here knew the asteroid was coming and were able to hide,"

"We really need to find that power source." Benjamin said a little worried. He didn't want Emma to be trapped in that force field forever.

"Then we better get started," Cyndi said. "Listen up everyone, Lieutenant commander Parker is trapped in a force field and we need to find the power source. I want some answers. Lieutenant Herculoid believes an asteroid may have hit the planet centuries ago, she thinks the body of water may be the impact point. It's possible someone may have survived."

Bret Rogers perked up at that thought as he hoped there was life.

Cyndi tapped her com-badge, "Emma do you read? Respond!"

**Inside the structure**

Emma did not receive an answer to her message to the captain and Benjamin, she tried several more times and then proceeded on her path. Stopping in front of the next building, the door was swinging back and forth, though there appeared to be no wind at all. She drew her phaser, just for precautionary measures and stepped inside.

It appeared to be what they would call a restaurant back on Earth. The first thing Emma noticed was how the tables had dishes on them, covered in dust. There was an overturned pitcher on a table and some glasses at the counter that whatever had been in them had dried up a long time ago. The stain on the glasses told the story.

Emma tried to contact the away team once more. "Commodore Song...Commander Parker, is anyone there?"

"We're here Emma, anything to report?" Benjamin said trying to be professional but emotionally nervous. You didn't like the fact that his wife was trapped in a force field, and apparently there was nobody there to turn it off.

"I don;t like this, we need to find a way in there or at least communicate with her," Cyndi said.

" This could all be a test. Somebody could be playing with us." Bret Rogers speculated.

"I thought I saw movement in one of the structures." Emma replied. "I entered the building but there is nothing here." she had looked around extensively. "I am going to see if I can find a way to return to where you are."

Cyndi was relieved that they could hear Emma, "Keep us posted and see if you can find a way to shut down the forcefield. Herculoid believes that an asteroid hit here in what is the body of water,"

"That potentially explains what happens to all the local wildlife. It doesn't explain how this force field got here, and what is maintaining its power source." Benjamin pointed out to Cyndi.

"Agreed, I also wonder if whoever lived here had enough warning before the asteroid hit to hide? Could that be the cause of the forcefeld and what Emma might have seen when she reported possibly seeing movement?"

" I would look for a cave . Things always live in caves." Bret Rogers suggested.

Emma walked along, there were four structures in total. She came to one that appeared to be the hub of the small compound, which is what she chose to call it. She walked inside and saw a computer console. Everything was dark and she was about to step out when the door closed behind her and lights came, on the computer screen lit up simultaneously.

"Away team." Emma pressed her comm. "I am locked in one of the structures and their computer hub appears to be waking up."

Cyndi tapped her comm, "Waking up how what are you seeing and do you think you can get out of there or get us in?"

"I cannot open the door and the computer is actively running." She walked over to it. "I may have tripped something when I came in here."

"I don't like this. We need to find a way to either shut down the computers or a way to get you out," Cyndi said.

"Commodore," Kristian spoke up. "We don't know what could be going on in there." Tapping her com-badge. "Commander this is Doctor Long. How is the air in there where your at? This being ancient technology I also wonder if there is a way to unplug the computers?"

"The air seems fine." Emma replied. "I can try to disable the computers. Commodore? Is that your orders?"

"Yes," Cyndi said, "Before you do see if you can figure out what it is that triggered the computer to come to life and what they could be wanting. I have a bad feeling about this. This planet may be devoid of life but that does not explain the fruit trees. Something does not seem right."

"Understood Commodore." Emma replied as she moved towards the computer itself. "I'll keep you posted."

"Above all be careful, we don't know what that thing is capable of," Cyndi warned. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Benjamin looked at her, he was scared and hoped there was no more surprises waiting for him and Emma, on this god-awful place. "Let's stay positive." He said, feeling what Cyndi felt too.

Cyndi understood how Ben felt, she felt it at times when she and Paul had been assigned on the same ship. There was a time to be a spouse and a time to be an officer. "I'm certain she'll be okay. Emma is not going to take unnecessary chances. She's also the best one right now to get the answers we need."

As Emma moved towards the computer she heard a noise to her left and looked over as her path was blocked by two men with determined looks in their eyes. "Commodore." She pressed her comm. "I have company."

Benjamin didn't like her tone, it didn't make it sound like it was a positive thing. He looked too Cyndi, to see what she would
say.

"Company? What kind of company, this planet is supposed to be deserted," Cyndi asked tapping her comm the concern clear in her voice. "Have you managed to disable the computer so we can get a lock on you and beam you out?."

Benjamin was glad that she asked that question, cuz he thought the same thing. But he wasn't in charge of the mission. Cyndi was in charge of the mission. He wanted to say something, but he decided to remain silent and wait for Emma to respond.

"My path to the computer is blocked by two men." Emma replied. "I am running a scan to see if I can detect a species." After a moment she spoke. "The appear to be androids."

One of the androids stepped forward.

“I am Solem.” The man said as he stepped forward. “We are the keepers of this world. We seek a female to aid us in repopulating this world.” His eyes met hers. “Would you be willing to volunteer to stay here and be the vessel to bring back those who once lived here.”

​Emma took a steadying breath, her mind racing as the weight of the request settled over her. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, blurring the android's cold, synthetic features. "You're asking me to give up my entire life," she said, her voice trembling despite her best efforts to keep it firm. "I have a husband who is my world, and two young children back on the Amandora who need their mother. The thought of leaving them—of never seeing them grow up, never holding them again—it would destroy me. It would tear my soul apart. I sympathize with your species' tragic decline, but I cannot tear my own family to pieces to fix it."

​She took a step forward, drawing strength from the uniform she wore. "On top of that, I am an officer in Starfleet. I made a solemn vow to uphold my duty, my oath, and my service. My commitment is to the Federation and to the people I swore to protect. While my heart truly aches for the plight of your people, and I deeply respect the desperation that brought you to make such a request, I cannot and will not agree to stay."

​The android stared at her for a long, quiet moment, its glowing optical sensors processing her emotional response and the unyielding tone in her voice. "We have analyzed your emotional state and the biological parameters of your resolve," the android spoke, its voice measured and devoid of malice. "Our programming strictly forbids coercion or forced breeding, as genuine consent is paramount to the genetic stability and moral foundation of our future generation. Since you are unwilling, we will not compel you. You and your fellow crew members are hereby released from our custody. You are free to return to your vessel, but you must depart our planet and exit our territorial space immediately. Should you remain in this sector, we will be forced to treat your presence as an act of hostility."

Emma watched as they backed away when he finished speaking and the computer shut down. Almost simultaneously the forcefield dropped.

"I am on my way out, Commodore." Emma said into her comm. "We have been ordered to leave the surface." She hurried out towards them.

"Then let's get off this planet," Cyndi said tapping her com-badge. "Amandora beam us up and prepare to break orbit."

Emma was relieved to see both the commodore and Ben. She knew they wanted to talk about what had happened but she preferred to wait until they were out of there and had headed out of orbit. The andrioids could always change their minds.

"Couldn't agree with you more, Commodore." As I wrap my hands around emma, waiting to be beamed up to the Amandora.
