Posted on Wed Apr 13th, 2022 @ 11:33am by Lieutenant James McTavish & Commodore Cyndi Song & Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Chief Warrant Officer Niraasha "Nira" Whisperwind

Mission: Weapon Investigating
Location: Amandora
Timeline: Current

::ON::

Lieutenant McTavish was at the Science Station keeping track of the movements of the Tholian Ship noticing it had moved a little closer; but before James could inform Command......

The Comm Officer spoke up "Commander Kahn, we're being hailed...it's the Tholian Ship" he informed Kelliza.

Green gave Liza a knowing look. "I told you this wouldn't take long, Sir."

Kahn glanced over at the Security officer at Tactical. "Acknowledge their request for communication, Ensign. Contact the Commodore and inform her that we are being hailed." Walking to the center of the Bridge and facing the screen/window, Liza gave a nod. "Put it through, and request visual communication."

Nira could feel the tension within Kahn, knowing that one false move could spell doom for diplomacy. She herself had little understanding of these Tholian beings. However, she could sense nothing from Green, as if the woman was not even there. If not for the physical form before her Nira would never have known she was on the Bridge.

As Liza gave her commands Ro stood casually off to the side, but within view of whoever they ended up talking to. Calling on the Core Green shut herself off from detection, focusing on the moment and bringing positive energy to bare.

Moments later the Tholian appeared on the view screen. Tall, slender, and dressed in a military uniform with two compound eyes, mandibles on each side of the mouth along with one long braid like object hanging down on each side of it's head which would move like an animal's tail.

The Tholian spoke "I am Czar Kinlo Dasheer [hiss].....Commanding Officer of the TA Insurgent [hiss]....Second Magistrate of the Tholian Assembly [hiss]...what is the Federation doing here [hiss] "he queried being very direct and using a cold tone.

Kahn set herself. "I am Commander Kelliza Kahn, executive officer of this vessel. We are here due to concerns about an anti-matter weapon that has the capability to destroy entire planets. Such technology cannot be allowed to exist."

Green internally applauded Kahn. Standing firm with Tholians was one way to garner their respect. However, push too much and the gig was up.

Cyndi walked up just in time to hear Kahn's response, "I'm Commodore Cyndi Song commanding officer. My first officer has already informed you about our concerns regarding this weapon. What are you doing here?"

Kahn breathed an inward sigh of relief. Having commanded her own ship in the past it was always wise to let the CO do the talking. She waited to hear what the Magistrate had to say.

Green, however, stepped forward as Song finished speaking. "What can we do for you, Magistrate Kinlo? The weapon we seek is dangerous to both our people."

The Tholian's braids began to quickly move back and forth involuntarily "What we are doing here is none of the Federations concern [hiss].....You have no idea the importance of our work here, someone is trying to sabotage our project [hiss]......we are investigating the incident now; if we even smell any Federation involvement you will rue the day you ever heard of the Tholians [hiss]" he answered, then he cut the transmission as the screen went blank.

"That went well," Cyndi commented "Go to yellow alert, scan that ship and see if it's weapons are charged. I don't want a fire fight if I can avoid it."

Green reached out and touched Cyndi's forearm subtly. "No to yellow alert, Sir. They can scan us and detect our systems charged for battle. We can work with this, as it stands."

Liza gave a nod of agreement. "The Tholians are not immediately attacking, Commodore. That's a good sign. We have them on our side, more or less, for the time being."

Green turned from the small group to the rest of the Bridge. "Anyone got any bright ideas? Now would be the time. You serve on the Bridge, then it is high time you acted like it and gave your commanding officer options." She waited, somewhat impatiently, for anyone to respond.

Cyndi looked at Ro and nodded "Your right, stand down yellow alert."

The rest of the Bridge dropped their chins and maintained doing their duty, with no options offered. Green looked at Cyndi. "Sorry, Commodore, I don't do well with officers who can't ACT like officers."

Liza reached out and touched Green's forearm, saying quietly. "Bring it down, Green. They all know their jobs."

[ Few Hours Later ]

"Commodore we're being hailed by the Tholian Ship again" the Comm Officer informed Cyndi.

"On screen," Cyndi ordered standing

Czar Kinlo's face appeared and not quite so agitated as he spoke "Apologies Commodore for cutting our last conversation so abruptly" [hiss] he paused before continuing " But to the point....although I don't have any definitive proof, I find it interesting that our research disappeared shortly after your Ship was discovered in orbit around Quagmire [hiss]. Any thoughts on the timing" [hiss].

Green had remained on the Bridge, going inward and calming herself. She had to remember she was back in service now, not a civilian agent, and there were better ways to approach problems.

Liza piped in before Song could answer. "We appreciate your contacting us, Magistrate. We are also performing an investigation into the events surrounding this technology. Perhaps an allegiance is in order?"

The Czar made a facial expression; what would pass for a grin "Commander with respect, the Tholians do not make allegiances with anyone [hiss]......however being a military man I know the benefits of diplomacy [hiss].....may I suggest a meeting on Quagmire and I will ensure the safety of your Officers [hiss]" Kinlo responded not quite sure if he should trust these Federation people.

"I'm sure that can be arranged, and in good faith I suggest two representatives from each ship," Cyndi said "Perhaps also we each send someone from both of our ships to the other one as guests."

The Czar thought for a moment "That's acceptable Commodore and I will make the necessary arrangements on Quadmire [hiss]" he stated "However....your people would find our Ship's atmosphere quite unbearable and our laws forbid such an exchange [hiss]. I hope you understand [hiss]."

Liza gave a nod and grin. "He is right, Commodore. Their atmosphere is like that of a demon world. Even in suits our time would be extremely limited on their ship."

Rogue came up on Cyndi's left. "Meeting on the planet should suffice, Sir. I volunteer for the away meeting."

Kinlo over heard their conversation "So it's settled then....we will meet at the Research Center at what you would call ten hundred tomorrow [hiss]. Tell the Guards you are there to see the Magistrate and they will show you to a meeting room [hiss]." he instructed.

"I'll do that and there will be one representative from my ship and one security guard" Cyndi replied "Who will be going down will be decided."

The Magistrate must have felt that his part in the conversation was over and he closed the channel. Kahn looked to those in close proximity. "Commander Green you seem to know the Tholians better than most. If the Commodore agrees then I have no issue with you going down to that meeting." She glanced around at everyone. "If this goes well then perhaps more of us will be allowed to beam down and assist. Or, at least, play at trying to assist."

Ro stood still with a positive expression. "It's starting off well. We're talking, not threatening. Should we maintain this attitude then I don't think the Tholians will be an issue for us. If they damage our warp drive they can call in web ships and we're done for. So, let's play nice." She grinned.

"If I agree to let Green go, you won't go without an armed security officer. I can always have Rivers cloak her fighter and head out to keep an eye on things," Cyndi said "I should be the one to go. It's a matter of diplomacy and I should be the one to go."

Kahn looked at Cyndi. "Commodore, the mission is not reasonably free of danger. I would have to advise strongly against that as your XO."

Green didn't argue. In her mind if Cyndi wanted to go, then she should go.

"Your right and I'll need to be here to get us out of anything I get us into," Cyndi said turning to Ro "Commander Green your going to beam down, your going with an armed escort and your to check in with me every hour. As much as I want to go I'm needed up here. Find answers as well to the species that live in the mine on that one moon as well."

"We'll get the answers we need, Cyndi." Green gave her friend and CO a nod and grin. "We got this. Back in the day, there wasn't anything we couldn't handle, sister. This will work out, you'll see."

"There is still nothing we can't handle. As badly as I want to go I know it's best I stay here," Cyndi commented.
