Mission:
Zaris Three
Location: Conference Room
Timeline: Current
ON:
Cyndi had ordered the ship to come to full stop while they awaited the arrival of the marine ship that was to rendezvous with them. Tapping her com-badge "Senior staff report to the conference room we have orders."
Cyndi walked into the conference room to await the arrival of her officers
Hurd had been close to the Bridge when he received the Commodore's message. Making his way to the Bridge, Hurd walked into the conference room, nodding at the Commodore as he did so.
Lt Thoros left his station and joined the others in the conference room. He was then joined by Lt Dorox, the ships new Chief Engineer.
" We do not allow your kind in these meetings. " Thoros growled.
" But they do allow your kind? " Dorox chuckled.
Tara, Kristian and Alesha walked in together, they'd been on break together when the call came in. Tara and Kristian took seats while Alesha took a position near the door as always.
McTavish heard the call and headed to the Briefing Room post haste. When he arrived he gave his usual nods to everyone present.
Shortly after that Commander O'Connell walked into the Room and greeted those already in attendance and took a seat next to James "McTavish your wife won't be bothered with strange gifts arriving anymore" he whispered. "Good....that was starting to worry me." he replied.
Trace was in Marine Country, spotting Private Conners on the free weights when he heard the call for senior officers on the bridge. His hand was halfway to his comm badge to respond when he realized he was no longer the CO of the Marines.
Not sure how he felt about it, he simply left the comm badge alone and returned to his workout.
Cyndi checked the time, "I'll give the rest a few more minutes before I begin."
Standing in his usual corner, Hurd tapped his Commbage and said, "First Lieutenant West, please report to the conference room, I want you to sit in on this briefing, Hurd out".
West motioned for one of the other marines to come over and spot Conners and tapped his comm badge. "On my way Major."
Seeing West walk in "I'll get started and will fill the rest in. To begin with Major Hurt your under orders from General Long to assist Major Gerald Winston to free a compound and free hostages that have been taken. The Marine Ship Viceroy is due to rendezvous with us. Your orders are to use what mean necessary, no hostages are to be killed and your to bring as many insurgents in alive as possible. You and Major Winston are equal rank, but the Viceroy is his ship. You have a squadron of sixty marines, take as many as you feel you'll need. Lieutenant West you can either join the major or you can remain aboard. I'll leave that decision up to you and Major Hurd. Lieutenant Rivers you and your pilots will remain aboard just in case." Cyndi said
"Understood," Alesha responded
"Once the Viceroy departs with the marines we'll be underway to Zaris Three, they've requested admittance into the Federation and it's up to us to determine if they are ready. Lieutenant Herculoid your going to be doing double duty both as a diplomatic officer and a science officer. Lieutenant McTavish you'll be going down to the planet as well once we arrive there. Lieutenant O'Connell minimum security, standard phasers nothing more. This planet seems too good to be true in many ways. I want the science department to scan everything, take samples and such. Operations your to check on things and see what type of technology they may have, engineering your to see what type of power supply that they have and if it needs to be brought up to Federation Standards or not. Doctor Long I want you on the surface to see if they people on Zaris Three have any issues that medical needs to address. We're not going in guns blazing. Not unless a threat is discovered and then I'll make that call. Any questions?" Cyndi said
In a calm tone, Hurd stated, "Ma'am, the safety and rescue of the hostages are priority number one, I will endeavor to bring in as many prisoners as possible, but I can't guarantee anything at all on that end".
O'Connell sat and grinned to himself thinking he certainly wasn't going to have a repeat of the last Mission Security wise as he spoke up "Security will be ready as per your orders Commodore."
"Coordinate with Major Winston," Cyndi said "Thank you commander, the last thing we need with these people wanting to join the Federation is a show of force unless needed."
"I'll have a field kit ready," Kristian spoke up
"I'm ready on both fronts as well," Tara said.
" Commodore your engine room is functioning at 98%. I will boost more power if needed. " Dorox promised.
"I'll let you know if more is needed, thank you lieutenant," Cyndi replied as her com-badge went off, tapping it "Go ahead,"
"Sorry to interrupt commodore but the Viceroy has docked and signals they're awaiting Major Hurd and his marines," communications announced."
Cyndi turned to Hurd "Major your ride is here, assemble as may marines as you need and head over to the Viceroy, any questions?" Not getting any more comments or questions "Okay you have your assignments. Once the Viceroy departs we'll head to Zaris Three. Dismissed."
