Post Number 5 Rescue Operation

Posted on Thu Oct 20th, 2022 @ 12:58pm by Lieutenant Commander Kristian Long & Captain Alesha Rivers & Commodore Cyndi Song & Commander Jamie O'Connell & Captain Rogue Green {Meji} & Lieutenant Thoros & Lieutenant Tara Herculoid PhD & Lieutenant James McTavish & Lieutenant Suvak & Lieutenant JG Jamie T. Kirk/AKA: "Jim"

Mission: BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

ON:

Green arrived on the Bridge, seeing all the familiar faces. It was good to be home. Leaving the main turbolift she then came to stand in the command center of the Bridge, next to Cyndi. "Hello, everyone. Apologies for my tardiness but after such a long warp flight it took me a minute to get back on my path. So, according to my PADD we have a damaged freighter, with all sensor evidence pointing to an attack. Is that correct, Commodore?"

"It's true commander and don't worry about being late, we all were myself included. I've tasked science to see who attacked it and if they are still in the area and how badly damaged the freighter is," Cyndi said.

Lieutenant McTavish was at Science Station 2 scanning the Freighter for any unusual markings or weapon signatures. After several minutes he found some curious markings and ran them through the Federation Database to see if he could find a match. A few minutes later the Computer gave him the answer. James raised an eyebrow at the findings "Commodore there are some strange markings on the side of the vessel. The Federation Database lists them as belonging to the Syndicate" James informed Cyndi then continued "It would appear that their engines are offline and their communications are non operational as well."

Commander O'Connell looked up from Tactical "Commodore there aren't any other Ships in the immediate area but I will continue to check long range scanners" he stated being very familiar with Tactical after serving as an XO for a number of years previously on another ship.

As Green opened her attention to include more in the area she gave O'Connell a nod of respect for all he had done in her absence. "You read my mind, Mister McTavish. I was going to ask for weapon signature scans." She spun a bit to face James better. "So, the freighter is Syndicate property, or the weapons used against it?"

Bjorgo had entered the Bridge from the starboard lift, hearing the last few things said back and forth. He did not interrupt, remaining stationary as the command staff when he noticed that Kirk was giving him a barely perceptible come here with her head as she manned the standing SCI-II station. He made his way over as the others went on, his brain listening as he went.

Tara had scanned the freighter "Commander, from the scans I've run the freighter is privately owned and the weapons used against it are Syndicate. I know you addressed McTavish but I had already run the weapons scan."

Dorox entered and also reported " The freighters reactor room is very hot Commodore"

Thoros also added " We should raise shields Commodore."

Kristian had made a rare visit to the bridge just in time to hear the comment about the freighter "Commodore, commander if there is anyone hurt over there they'll need medical attention."

"How bad is the reactor?" Cyndi asked "Standby shields if needed."

" The readings are very high for a freighter of its size." Dorox replied.

" If you need me to go over there Commodore?" Thoros volunteered.

"Count me in for away team," piped in Kirk before anyone got them back on point.

Green heard it all and gave a crooked grin. "If nothing else we can never be accused of not wanting to volunteer." A hand came up with a slight waving, the body language of saying 'moving on'. "Thank you for the response, Tara. The question was needing an answer. We have known Syndicate weapons signatures and a damaged freighter that did take fire. Mister Dorox is there a way we can shut down their core to standby from here? A way to, maybe, send an override? Science, we'll need you on this too."

Dorox stroked his chin.
" I will study the design and see if that is doable Commander."

Bjorgo decided now was a good time to interject. "Have we detected any humanoid life signs? Any of the known biosignatures? If there are wounded perhaps we can beam them out first and then see to the vessel."

Zenni had been standing in front of her chair, turned so as to see the lot. "I sense...fear, anger. There is someone alive over there. How many I cannot say."

"If the reports of the reactor room being hot anyone alive over there is in serious danger from radiation," Kristain spoke up "We need to find out and beam them directly to sick bay."

"Science that freighter, I want life sign readings, see how badly damaged it is and how much damage has been done to the warp drive. Doctor Long get sick bay ready for wounded just in case. Herculoid and James scan that freighter and find out what is going on over there," Cyndi ordered "Until a threat of radiation can be determined back us away and monitor the radiation for both us and the freighter. I want to know how many lifesigns are over there."

" Klingons can take radiation better than hu-mans. Send me over and I will count then personally." Thoros added.

Tore heard that and looked into Cyndi's eyes. "I am also immune to normal Human effects of radiation. Permission to join Mister Thoros on his excursion."

Green gave a nod. "Get moving, boys. Lives first, ship second."

Kahn was still reaching out to include all. "Despite...evidence, this is a trap. There are parties involved, but lives hang in the balance." She dropped her hands from cupping her ears and looked up at all with a pleading expression. "Get the innocent evacuated." Her eyes turned to Rogue. "Commander Green, be prepared."

"For...?"

"For whoever attacked the freighter," Tara spoke up.

"Tore, Thoros beam over evacuate everyone, Rivers I want you in a fighter to keep an eye out for anything until our people are back aboard. Keep in touch, standard weapons just in case you need them," Cyndi said.

O'Connell looked up from the Tactical Screen "Commodore not to add fuel to the fire but I'm picking up multiple Ships on long range scanners heading our way" he commented with more than a little concern in his voice.

"How many ships?" Cyndi asked.

"At least three....maybe more....can't tell for sure, I just picked them on the Scanners" Jamie replied " It'll be several hours before they reach our position."

"Beam over, get the injured over here, see what kind of damage has been done, see if they need help and get back here before you get too much radiation exposure," Cyndi said.

"Just because you two may be immune I don't want to take any chances," Kristian said.

Tore gave a grin. "My word choice was poor. I meant my resistance was far greater, not that I am immune. I shall take all precautions, Kris. Kirk, you should suit up in an engineer's EV suit and come along..."

Green cut in. "Airlocks are reinforced areas of every starship. Extra plating and defenses against hull breach, radiation, all that. Also, most vessels have an airlock close to engineering due to that fact." Ro tapped her PADD a moment before looking back up. "Kirk, take a Delta with Bjorgo and Thoros aboard and dock at the Secondary Hull airlock. If you two can get that core under control, do so. All ships have reinforced engineering compartments so any crew still alive could find a place to hole-up and have a small chance of rescue."

Zenni added. "If the radiation is that bad those over there need to be beamed to the decon chamber immediately. The less exposure the better, as we all know."

***

The one listening grinned at the myriad of situations they could be facing. How typical; overthink the problem before truly knowing what the problem is. But, all was going according to plan, according to their ally.

***

The dark haired man leaned back as he'd heard the transmission and grinned. Things were going according to plan.

***

Arms crossed and standing before their command chair, the third party in this Amandora vengeance party listened in. Rogue Green had come far, her treachery serving her well as it advanced her career. There were debts owed.

***

Kirk stood still, awaiting the okay from the Commodore for one action, or the other.

Thoros awaited also as adrenaline filled his Klingon blood.

"Make it so. Take the Delta Kirk, you, Bjorgo and Thoros, secure things, EV suits, if there are survivors beam them aboard, Dr Long prepare the decon chamber and ready sick bay. Rivers launch your fighter, keep an eye out for those ships science reported. Any questions?" Cyndi asked "Ro anything you'd like to add?"

Ro trusted the crew to make the right choices as a whole. A plan had been decided upon. "Get underway Kirk and Rivers. With three incoming vessels having you two out there may prove advantages. Dismissed."

Kirk slapped Thoros's upper arm. "Qapla'!" Was said in passing as she headed for the main lift with Rivers following close behind. Bjorgo got in step with kirk and entered the lift first as he was closer.

"Commodore," said Kahn. "I suggest we put ourselves between the freighter and the incoming unknowns. These people have suffered enough."

"Suvak move us between the freighter and those approaching ships," Cyndi ordered "Tactical charge weapons and put them on standby in case we need them."
