Cyndi walked into the conference room and called Commander Raymond, Major Hurd, First Lieutenant Rivers, Lieutenant Raymond, Lieutenant's McKeon, McTavish, to report to the conference room for a long overdue senior staff meeting."
Hearing the summons, Hurd groaned and made his way to the conference room. Nodding to the Commodore as he entered Hurd asked, "What's this about Ma'am?"
James had just left the Main Lab on Deck 5 when he heard the call from the Commodore and quickly made his way to the Conference Room. Upon entering he made the necessary gestures "Commodore, Major" and found a seat that he figured no one else would want just because.
Amethyst was next to arrive at the conference room, as usual she’d brought along a PADD on which to note down anything important from the meeting. She smiled politely at all those who’d already arrived as she moved to a seat and sat down.
Alesha walked in and nodded to Major Hurd and to the commodore before taking a position near the door as per her training.
"Major in answer to your question, this is a long over due staff meeting, Cyndi replied.
Alister entered the briefing room a slight smile on his face as he settled down into in of the briefing room chairs.
"I'll give the CMO,security chief and the XO a few more minutes before I begin this senior staff meeting, as you've all noticed it''s just department heads, Lieutenant Rivers your the only exception as your in command of the fighter wing but you are a marine as well," Cyndi said.
Will Raymond joined them as he nodded to all present.
" Great to see you all again. There was a few times I thought we might not." Will said referring to his mission to Savai.
"I'm going to begin Doctor Bjorgo and Lieutenant Kahn can join us at any time," Cyndi said turning to look at Amethyst "Counselor, I've not seen any reports from your department. Have you held any counseloring sessions with any of the staff? To begin with anyone in this room? I know you can't give out any details but who have you had in to talk to and are they fit for duty, myself included."
“I have spoken with Major Hurd prior to now Captain, as well as Lieutenant Suvak” Amethyst nodded politely to Hurd as she mentioned him. “As for the rest of the senior staff I will be conducting reviews very shortly.”
Cyndi nodded "Make sure I get the reports, I don't need the full details due to hippa, but I do need to know who you've seen, when, if further sessions are needed and their fitness for duty."
Amethyst nodded. “Yes Captain.”
"Thank you Amethyst," Cyndi said turning to Will, "Commander as my XO I do get your reports. Are there any concerns you may have regarding the staff, anything I need to address seeing as how most of the ships discipline falls to you."
" Well I missed out on the Marine fight. I did notice the Master Chief has submitted his resignation to Major Hurd? " Will replied.
"That I didn't know," Cyndi said "They are lucky the major didn't toss them all out an air lock. "Anything else you have to add commander? The officers and crew behaving themselves?"
" Perhaps it's the parent in me now but I noticed that some of the crew are dressing less formally on duty I had to correct a young lieutenant last night on his attire. We need to remind staff that this is Starfleet not the scouts." Will added.
I agree and what would this crew do if an admiral came for an inspection or a ride somewhere. Proper uniforms need to be worn and not looking like they slept in them. This happens again send them to me commander," Cyndi said
"Lieutenant McTavish, your the newest member of the crew. How are you finding things in science? Any concerns I need to be aware of?" Cyndi asked
"The Science Department on the Amandora is extraordinary; most everyone has been very welcoming as well as helpful. I'm quite impressed with everyone's passion for their various fields. As far as concerns, I did send Command a report on the collapsed wormhole some ninety light years away from Savai. But other than that, no real other concerns comes to mind. We are still processing the samples from the last away mission" James concluded.
"Is there anything you need in science," Cyndi asked "I saw your report on the wormhole. Very impressive, good work."
"Thank you Commodore. I will double check with Lieutenant Herculoid, but I think Science is all set for now. If anything should change I'll let the XO know" James replied.
"Good enough," Cyndi Said
"Lieutenant McKeon with you being Intel your privy to a lot of information. Is there anything we need to be aware of?" Cyndi asked.
“Nothing too serious from outside our borders as far as Intel is concerned, that’s from both official and back channels,” Alister said from his seat, “We’re fully staffed and have all our equipment up and running. If Rear Admiral Sanderson wants to start a department tour while he’s aboard, I would be happy to have him start with mine.”
"I'll pass it on," Cyndi replied "I didn't even know he was coming until I received word he was wanting to dock,"
“I would be a very poor Intelligence Officer if I couldn’t keep track of the moving around of Starfleet flag officers,” Alister replied from his seat, “One of my people should be delivering a bottle of Bloodwine to him in a few moments.” Alister gave a slight smile and a nod of his head in her direction, “I remember you commenting he developed a taste for it, and it’s personally just collecting dust in my collection.”
"I'm sure he'll love it," Cyndi said. Where the rear admiral is concerned, he's my husband. I didn't take his last name as he is an rear admiral and I wanted to make it on my own.
"Major how are your marines preforming? Do you have enough staff or should I have General Long send more when we reach Saturn Station?" Cyndi asked
Hurd replied in a gruff voice. "We are at 110 percent personnel." "I have also, due to that bs fight my men are not to interact with fleet personnel unless necessary for a while to cool down."
"It took a very long time major to get the two departments to work together and because of a few bad apples your choosing to separate them again. Since the fighter pilots are for all intense purposes marines as well and I know a pilot or two were involved. I know First Lieutenant Rivers has friends who are fleet officers. Are you planning on restricting her from seeing her friends? She should not get special privileges ," Cyndi asked "Bear in mind you can discipline your officers anyway you see fit."
Nodding he said.,"Rivers the orders also apply to your pilots as well, no interaction until things cool Off, understood?"
"Understood sir," Alesha said, "Does that include me or just my pilots?"
"Everyone, wouldn't be fair unless it was", Hurd replied.
While disappointed Alesha didn't let it show. "Understood sir," she replied
"Lieutenant Rivers how are your pilots," Cyndi asked
"Outside a few smartalics everyone is fine. I have to remind them from time to time that I'm in charge and not them and that I answer to the same major they do," Alesha said "We're always ready to do what it takes to defend this ship no matter what."
"Good enough lieutenant." Cyndi said
Will chuckled at their reports as it reminded him of school as a boy. * Teacher Johnny did this.
