Mission: Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Briefing Room
Timeline: Current

ON:

Seeing Commander O'Connell take his seat Cyndi turned to him "Herculoid has spotted something on long range sensors. I think the senior staff needs to hear what she's found. Let's head to the briefing room. Commander O'Connell you'll of course join us " Tapping her com-badge "Will the following officers meet me in the briefing room, Commander Green, Lieutenants Herculoid, Johnson, Montgomery, Onak, Zolon, Major Hurd, Captains Barnes and Rivers and Doctor Long" Cyndi got to her feet and headed into the briefing room followed by Tara.

Hearing the summons, Hurd left his office at a sprint. Arriving a few moments later he smiled and said, "Commodore".

O'Connell followed Cyndi and Tara into the Briefing Room along with Cassandra. Seeing Hurd "Major, nice to see you again" Jamie commented before taking his seat.
Hurd nodded his head and took his usual spot in a corner that directly faced the head of the table.

Alesha hearing the call to report to the briefing room headed for the bridge and over to the conference room. She took a position near the door and nodded to those who were already there. Kristian came in just behind her and took a seat.
"We'll give the rest of the officers a few minutes before we begin," Cyndi said

David headed on his way. He had just started his first shift on board. This was quite a way to meet most of the staff but he was fine with it.

Walking in to the meeting he looked at the command officer. "Commodore." Then nodded to the others and took a seat.
Hurd looked on from where he was standing, his ears and eyes open taking in everything. He was, to be honest, very curious at to what all this was about. But, as per his Marine training, it was not his job to know but rather to listen and follow any orders he was given to the utmost of his ability.

Green and Barnes walked in together, with Ro finishing something she was saying while out in the corridor. "I think if you added another group to the east, it would really get your soldiers to think outside the box." Jackson gave a nod to her at that, then Green looked up at everyone else. "Good day, everyone. Captain, if you would."

Barnes gave a nod and went to an empty chair.

Cyndi seeing the new operations chief walk in and take a seat. "For those of you who don't know I'd like to introduce our new chief operations officer Lieutenant David Montgomery. We're waiting on our new helm officer then I'll turn the floor over to Lieutenant Herculoid,"

Kalina walking around, not as soon as she was a little late. She didn't like this feeling, but the last thing she was going to do is ask the computer had to get to the bridge when all she had to do is go on the turbo lift. "Apologies everyone." She simply said she took a seat.

"You’re not late lieutenant," Cyndi said, "I'd like to introduce our new Chief Helm Officer, Lieutenant Karina Johnson. Lieutenant Herculoid tell everyone what your long range sensors picked up.

Tara activated the viewer "I spotted a small craft it’s just on sensor range about thirty light years away off our port bow. It appears to be traveling at warp 1. It’s too small to be a freighter. The course seems erratic almost as if it’s on auto pilot, I believe it to be a sleeper ship of some kind. "
"We're on an intercept course to check it out," Cyndi said "Thoughts everyone?"

Hurd thought for a moment and began to speak. "Does this ship match anything in the Federation database?" Pausing for a moment he added, "In any event, i would advise caution, because if it is indeed a sleeper ship, we have no idea who or what we could be waking up".

Green, sitting in her XO's chair at the table, listened to the roundabout as it just got started. Hurd's caution was both logical and mindful. "Lieutenant Herculoid, what about this small ship makes you think it is acting erratic? Is it zig-zagging, flying in circles, or simply plowing through space despite what lies before it? I would hate for us to board the ship only to find out that the vessel is doing exactly what its owners wanted it to. Then, there is trespassing to be considered."

"It's flying almost in circles, almost as if the auto pilot disengages then it straightens out for a few minutes as if the auto pilot re-engages the it goes back to the erratic path again. In response to the major, it's too far out to get a good reading on it. What I showed you was on maximum magnification," Tara replied

"Commodore," Green said. "It's worth having a look. If someone is in trouble then it's our duty to help so long as they are in Federation space. Standard operating procedures on this one for health and safety inspection of an unknown craft."

Onak looked through the sensor information. The ship was too small to pose any military threat, and the Amandora was well equipped to deal with vastly larger vessels. He decided to sit back, take in the conversation, and institute a deep sensor scan for any companions the little ship might have out there.
David listened as they spoke. He thought they were all making sound statements."When we arrive we should take a look at their systems. It could be a simple fix and we send them on their way without interfering in their destination."

Green gave the OPS Manager a nod of agreement. Just as she did that Lieutenant Resch came into the briefing room and walked over to the XO, handing her two PADDs before stepping off to the side. As he had handed the devices to Ro she gave him a silent 'thank you'. She glanced at them, saw they had nothing to do with the current topic, so set them aside.

Kalina wish she felt the same, she refer to be the first one in the room not one of the last ones in the room. It was nice at the Commodore to say though that she wasn't late. Deep down in the heart, she knew that she would have to arrive a little sooner.

For the moment though she didn't have time to soak in her own pity, she heard what the Commodore has said. There was a ship traveling up a little warp, she wondered if this was going to be a first contact situation.

Kalina wondered why this ship was traveling circles, it was such a strange behavior. She wondering if it was being affected by maybe some gravity wake? Maybe the ship didn't have a deflector dish and it was trying to create its own gravity wait to remove any obstacles in his path she wasn't sure. But the ships are moving did spark her curiosity. "When we get closer if you want me to I can attempt to match its course but given the fact that we're probably a lot bigger than it I would recommend that we keep our distance, I would suggest maybe sending a runabout to make contact with the ship. If we get too close and it's doing these circles we may not be able to maneuver around it in time." Kalina suggested to the group. It was only a suggestion but the senior staff would have to decide if that was the best course of action or if they're going to take another course of action.

Ro liked where Johnson's head was at. "Is the ship within Federation space? You said it was 30 light years away, Tara. If it is, we have every right to check it out. If it's not then we have to tread carefully so we don't create enemies by trespassing on someone else's property."

"It's just on the edge of Federation Space, commander," Tara said "When it does it's erratic moves it drifts in and out of Federation Space."

"I would suggest that we plan to intercept it when it's back in Federation space again. If I can get a copy of the flight path, I believe I can create a flight plan based off of it." Kalina suggested, she felt confident in her abilities.

"Lieutenant Johnson take us to transporter range and hold position. If that is not possible them we'll send over a shuttle or run about. Commander Green assemble an away team. Medical, security, operations, tactical, science and Herculoid since she's the one who found it and does have a minor degree in communications." Cyndi said

"Yes Sir." Kalina said in a cool and collect your tone. keep that even more fun to try to match speed with a runabout to the ship but she could also understand the CO's perspective.

Lieutenant Zolon chimed in "I'll have a Science person ready to go" she stated. O'Connell added to the conversation "A Security team will be ready to accompany the away team with Lieutenant SanChez taking point; also I'll include Lieutenant Qa'tok as Tactical."

Green gave nods here and there as everyone added their pieces to the conversation. When there was a pause she spoke up. "Once we're close enough to determine more sensor data, I will decide who will be going over." She stood up, tired of sitting. Never her favorite past time. She got behind her chair and as she scooped up the PADDs that had been delivered, laying her left arm across the headrest casually as she went on. "At this point we don't even know if their atmosphere is compatible with ours. We may all be going over in suits, or wearing rebreathers. Plus, the size of the vessel may be an issue. We don't know how much of the internal makeup is machinery. If it is a sleeper ship then it stands to reason they will have quite a few redundant systems that need to maintain themselves to keep the travelers alive. That much technology may make it cramped. Jamie, since you mentioned SanChez, I take it you would prefer to sit at home on this one?" She grinned at her little joking query.

"I’ll add a 3 man Marine Ready Response Team and have them on standby just in Case something goes sideways", Hurd said with a smile. He then added, "I still advise caution until we determine exactly who or what we are dealing with, although i do not anticipate many, if any, problems".

Kalina have heard of the Starfleet Marine Corps but she had actually never met any of them till she joined the ship. She just said they're listening to the XO and the MCO discussing plans for the upcoming away mission. Part of her deep down wondered what it was like to be a Marine in Starfleet. She was hoping later on maybe she could stop by there barracks section on the ship and say hi.

Jamie grinned back at the joke "Sure, why should I have all the fun; besides It'll be good experience for the Lieutenant."

Green smiled. "Fair enough, Commander. I'll take this excursion." Ro then looked to Hurd. "Major, I hope we won't need the marines on this one, but yes, please keep at least a squad at the ready."

Barnes, standing off to the side with his back up along a bulkhead, voiced his own response. "Should be straightforward, Commander. We'll be ready."

"I will be ready as well." David spoke up. The commodore did mention operations going and he knew it was the first officers decision he just wanted them to know he would be going for his department if need be.

A broad smile flashing across his face as Hurd said, "I hope we are not needed either but my Marines will be ready". Hurd noticed Kalina and nodded at her. He then faded back into the shadows of the room, watching and listening to all that was going on.

Ro looked at the new OPS Manager. "We'll need you over there, Mister Montgomery. Figuring out alien tech is not easy but hopefully it will resemble ours to some degree. Once we're on site I'll divvy out the assignments."

"Any other questions, concerns or input?" Cyndi asked "There is one final officer I'd like the commander to take and that is Lieutenant Onak, he's tactical as well."

"Consider it done, Commodore," said Green. "Doctor Long, would you like to go over, or remain here in case we find people in need of Sickbay?"

"I'm going along," Kristian said "My field kit is packed and ready."

"Sounds good," Green responded. "Make sure Doctor Sheyla is set up with all she needs then. If we get incoming wounded she'll need to be on her toes."

"Understood commander," Krstian said

Everyone seem ready to assist in the mission, she knew she was the new girl in the group and trying to fit in. She believe in time she would earn their respect in but for the moment she still had to earn it. Even though the crew is preparing for the worst possible scenarios, she hoped deep down, that everything would go without a hitch.

"Lieutenant Johnson," said Green. "We'll use the USS Euphrates. A runabout will have an easier time catching up to and matching velocity and course changes than a Galaxy class. Runabouts have a two-person transporter and if you are close enough beaming aboard will be a straight shot. If we can access an airlock on the ship and dock with it then so much the better."

"Let's hope that's the case, Captain Rvers keep your fighters on standby just in case I need to scramble them,." Cyndi said

"They'll be ready sir," Alesha responded

"Alright!" Said Green with exuberance in her voice and a grin. "Seems we have a plan, Commodore. I say we get to the site and get our ducks in a row so we can proceed forward."

"Sounds good to me. Let's intercept that ship and see what is going on with it. Is there anything else, if not we're good," Cyndi said

Barnes, Green, and Resch all gave nods that they were finished.

Hurd nodded and said, "No Questions Ma'am"

Tara, Kristian and Alesha all nodded indicating they good as well.

Kalina listened to the plan. "I'm ready to go, Commander." She simply said with a big grin. She was eager to fly the runabout.

"Okay then everyone phasers on stun and only as a last resort. dismissed," Cyndi said getting to he feet.
