Mission:
Kidnapped
Location: Main Briefing Room
Timeline: current
ON:
After her conversation with Herculoid, LIza went in and sat at the captain's desk, bringing up a holoscreen with the Admiral at the other end. She gave a friendly smile. "Admiral now? Congratulations, Aaron. What can the Amandora do for you?"
"Thank you, Liza." Then Stone went into business mode. "Don't you think the word 'rescind' was a bit overboard? The entire Federation Council is now reviewing all the Klavor diplomacy."
"Admiral, had I sugarcoated then all this fact-checking wouldn't be going on." Kahn took in a breath. "This Usher claims that the Federation are responsible for some cultural atrocity. All I'm asking for is to make sure that is not the case. As a Starfleet officer I can't just ignore that."
Admiral Stone played with his chin for a few moments while he gave some thought to what she had said. "Alright, I'll back your play. What about at your end?"
"We're at warp travelling to a possible location site for the Commodore. We're going to swoop in and surprise them with a blitzkrieg. The world is neutral, and according to records, a slaver haven."
Stone's brow clinched a bit. "Then do as you must, Captain. Don't make it some private crusade to down the slavers. The Commodore comes first."
"Aye, Sir. Thank you. I need to address the crew." Liza reached for the key to shut down. "Take care, Aaron. We'll get this done. Kahn out."
Standing up and doing the Picard maneuver to the front of her tunic Liza made her way to the Bridge, arriving dead center and speaking in a determined tone. "Helm, all stop and put us at station keeping." She spun and looked back at tactical. "Shipwide intercom." The officer tapped a few keys and then nodded.
Kahn took the cue and began to speak once the ship was at all stop. "Attention, crew of Amandora. The possible location for Commodore Song is a neutral colony. It is a slaver haven, as well. It is us against them, any Starfleet will be frowned upon here. We have no friends here. Either they win or we do. I don't like to lose. A list of officers will appear on status boards. Please check it for your name. All officers on the list will report to the command briefing room. Kahn, out."
Picking up her captain's PADD Kahn began to list the names:
Major Hurd
Lieutenant Suvak
Chief Nira
Ensign McQueen
Lieutenant Yova
Lieutenant Applegate
Lieutenant McTavish
Lieutenant Herculoid
Lieutenant Bjorgo
Lieutenant Silk
Lieutenant Rahl
Lieutenant McKeon
Lieutenant Long
Lt. Heather McTavish
Lieutenant Rivers

That included the go-getters. Hopefully, her insight would serve her well. "Tactical, you have the con, I'll be in the briefing room." Kahn went through the doorway into the next room off the Bridge. She sat down in the CO's chair and began to tap away at her PADD while waiting.
T’Mia was in-between appointments seeing her name on the board she quickly reorganised her next appointment and headed for the briefing room. It didn’t take long to get there, as the door opened she nodded politely to Kahn “Commander” she took a seat and waited to see who arrived next.
Heather was just finishing up something in the Lab when she heard her name called by the Captain. She quickly swung by the CSO's Office to catch James. When she peeked her head in the door James was standing with his PADD in hand " James what's going on....I haven't been called to the Briefing Room before" Heather said being a little nervous at the request.
James smiled "Don't worry, I'm sure it has to do with the Commodore. Captain Kahn probably wants all hands on deck; so we better get a move on" he replied. So the two Lieutenants made their way to the Briefing Room and entered. As they walked in James gave his usual greeting to those present and they took a seat.
Tara and Kristian had been having lunch when the call came in, Long was still in her lab coat. "Maybe it's news on the commodore," Kristian commented as they headed for the briefing room. Kristian stopped by sick bay long enough to grab a PADD and tossed one to Tara as well.
Alesha met Tara and Kristian just as they got to the briefing room. Walking in Alesha took a position near the door while Tara and Kristian took seats.
Alister slide into his seat, frowning slightly as he looked over at the Commander.
"The fighter wing is ready," Alesha said
"Sick bay is ready and I'm ready for what you need me to do," Kristian responded
On the screen from Engineering Yova added, " The engines are at full power Commander."
Doctor Bjorgo entered the briefing room, going to his CMO chair and sitting down casually, leaning back but upright.
Kahn had nodded in greeting to all who came in, friendly and respectful. Nira entered last and went to the far side of the room from the CO's chair, standing in a shadowed corner.
"Thank you all for coming to the summons promptly." Liza spoke in an easy tone with a stern clip. "Thanks to Lt. Herculoid we have scans of this colony world Glintok, with the colony city and the system all being named Glintok. According to Federation and Starfleet data files they are independent. However, if this is a slaver hub and market, all who are here know who we are."
Silk had slid into the room and went over to stand next to Nira, not interrupting the CO as she spoke. When she had finished her last he responded. "I say we go in as Starfleet, then. We are who we are. We all know Starfleet has undergone an internal shift since the Dominion war. One of our own was abducted and we are bringing hell with us to get her back."
Bjorgo looked to the head of the table. "He's not wrong, Captain. With the fleet still rebuilding to a comfortable level we need to stand tall when it comes to opposition. I'm sure T'Mia would agree that with so many veterans serving from that war, who were junior officers then, command in a far different way than say--twenty years ago. In essence, we aren't pushovers anymore."
Yova chuckled from his screen at that phrase push over. " Captain Sisco would have stormed the place with the Defiant."
"While I understand Yova, storming the place until we know where the commodore is could get her killed," Alesha spoke up.
"The SOS is from a ship in orbit but we have no way if she's still being held there," Tara replied.
" One honest question, why steal the Commodore?" Yova added.
"Why steal anyone lieutenant," Tara answered
" I pray the prophets watch over our Commodore." Yova replied.
"Commander what are your orders? What do you want us to do?" Tara asked
“This is a neutral world, if it being used a slave hub it will be more heavily defended then it first appears,” Alister said from his seat, “Also it will be used by multiple groups not everyone will be anti-Federation. Their are pirate groups that will not hit Federation targets, however we come in with everything and they might change their tune and we could see an uptick in Pirate attacks across the area of space.”
"I have a squadron of ten fighters," Alesha said looking at Kristian and Tara "Doctor Long and Lieutenant Herculoid both know how to pilot a fighter if need be."
Tara nodded "We can pilot a fighter and we're both certified to pilot a shuttle."
Kahn was glad everyone attending was, more or less, on the same page. "You're not wrong, Alister. I'm sure hidden among this rabble are privateers and the like. Those willing to aid us for a tidy profit. Hurd hasn't arrived, so I can only assume he is taking care of his own business. Silk, you're a Marine, a medical officer, and a Starfleet officer. Pick your team for an extraction."
"Yes, Sir!" Silk's acknowledgement came out a bit more gung-ho than he wanted but, oh well. It's who he was. One mention of possible combat and he was always all in. He began to think on a good team.
"Alesha, you and Herculoid take a fighter each." Explained Kahn. Alongside and forward of Amandora, as if escorting us through the flotsam of freighters and private vessels. Be showy but keep it minimal. While you skitter along with us I want both your fighter sensors focused on the colony world. Get answers and feed all structural data to Mister Applegate. His structural expertise may be able to determine where they would hold high-value/important prisoners."
Silk interjected. "Pardon the interruption, Captain. Myself, Bjorgo and Nira will take a warp shuttle down and begin to assess the terrain. Anyone else, you're always welcome." He nodded toward Bjorgo, then Nira. "That's my team, so far."
Liza gave a smile. "Magick, muscle, and some crazy. I approve. If you want on Silk's team don't hesitate to speak up. Once I engage back to warp five, we'll have two hours to fine tune this mission. All of you are a credit to the uniform. Let's get this done." Another smile as she looked around the room.
Tara nodded as she glanced to Alesha "Understood sir, we need to bring her home. It's also highly possible she's badly injured."
"Tara as soon as this breaks up come with me to the fighter bay," Alesha said
"Where do you want me at?" Kristian spoke up
Having been listening in, Hurd said, "Where do you want me and my men, how much damage do you want done, and this is just a statement of fact, The General stays aboard, no if, ands, or buts about it".
Kristian looked at the major "General with all due respect the general did not get where she is by sitting on her ass and doing nothing. If Commander Kahn wants her to go along it's her call."
"Then let me be clear" Hurd said curtly. "We already have one Flag Officer being Heald hostage, having God knows what done to her". "I will not allow for a second Flag Grade Officer to be put at risk. Looking around the room, Hurd smiled and said, in a softer tone, "My friends, I respect and honesty admire you all, but no, General, you are not going, and if you attempt to, I have legal grounds to immediately have you confined to the brig for the duration of the mission for your own safety, and I am prepared to do just that".
"Strong words major," Narla said "I go or stay is up to the commander. I value my life but the life of the commodore is foremost, I know what slavers can do. Commander the floor is yours."
Pulling a PADD from his back pocket and sliding it across the table, Hurd said, "Actually, in this one, very narrow case, it isn't". "That PADD, which you will find contains both the signature and orders from the SFMC CIC, order you to stay aboard, and further permit me, if try to disobey them, to place you in temporary detention, which I'd rather not do". His voice softening, he said, "I did this preemptively because I know you are stubborn and bullheaded like I am, we already have one Flag Officer captive, and most of all I care".
"I appreciate the concern major, and yes I can be stubborn. Since I'm under orders by my superiors," Narla commented.
Kahn had listened to the banter going back and forth. Her ire grew steadily. Without shouting, and with a command tone, Liza did raise her voice enough to get attention. "I am in command of this gawdamn ship! No one makes any decisions without my say-so, and my approval." She looked directly into David's eyes. "If I choose to send the General down with a team, that's my call, not yours." Her eyes went back to glancing around the room. "Narla, he's right, despite my misgivings about what the Major said. You will stay aboard if for no other reason than you are a guest here, and not crew. I cannot risk your capture. What you know in that brain of yours could be extracted and used to harm the Federation."
When Sean felt that Kahn had finished he looked over at Hurd. "Major, grab a couple of grunts and meet us on the shuttle. I think four marines, a crazy doctor, and an alien mystic could do quite a bit of damage."
Liza's countenance went from hard commander to understanding officer once more. "Now that I can agree on." Looking around once more she gave her orders to finish the briefing. "Alesha, get all your fighters prepped, just in case. Hurd, grab a couple marines and be prepared to go planetside. Silk, you and your team do the same. Everyone else, commit to your duties and aid where you can. Kristian, you're CMO while Bjorgo goes on the away team. We have one goal here, people. Bring the Commodore back alive."
Bjorgo had stood after hearing his name and what was going on. He went and stood with Silk and Nira, giving a nod to Hurd on the downlow, then using his chin to motion ever-so-slightly that he should join this team for the extraction run.
Kahn gave a final look to her people. "Good luck, people. Carry on." Taking up the CO's PADD Liza left the briefing room and walked back out onto the Bridge.
"Tara meet me in the fighter bay in five minutes," Alesha said "I'll get you suited up."
"Getting to her feet "I'll be there," Tara agreed eager to get into a fighter again
